Material Temperature is of primary importance in the successful construction of asphalt surfaces. Temperature variances in the supply of modern temperature critical materials and changes in laying conditions due to wind speed and the prevailing climate can cause rapid heat loss from the surface.

TFS1 is a unique system that monitors the asphalt temperature directly underneath the roller. The surface temperature is measured by an advanced non-contact air-purged sensing system. It combines the latest infrared technology with an entirely new concept in thermoelectric principles to determine the asphalt temperature by its emitted infrared radiation, allowing high quality measurement in all harsh roller environments.
